  • I am trying to create a plugin that pulls some information from a text file and displays it. But, I have a slight problem.

I know how to do almost everything, but put the information on the page. I need like a form that has a text box to display data, a drop down menu, and a submit button. I am just not sure how to replace the shortcode with the form. (I am guessing it is somehow passed through the return argument.) Also, how to update the text box with data when a button is clicked. Both, how to cause a button to trigger a function. And how to write the retrieved data into the text box.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

  • I really just need to know how to pass variables from wordpress input on a page to the plugin. Can anyone help me with this? I know how to send variables through a short code, but not dynamically.

And, how would I send data that is being processed by the plugin back into the page? i.e. update a textbox with the generated data. All I am looking for is a point in the right direction, not the actual code.
