Hi and thank you for supplying this great plugin!

Can I just ask, if I was to have a shop with products in different categories, how would I display those categories on one page so that a visitor can search for the kind of item they’re looking for?

So for example if I had a category for bouncy balls, one for tennis rackets, one for dog toys etc, how would I have a page which shows each of those sections separately, then I can click on any of them and find a full list of balls on one page/tennis rackets on another etc

I wonder whether there there is a shortcode I’ve missed, as all my products display on one page as seen at http://lovefamilyholidays.co.uk/holiday-essentials-online/ – or do I have to manually add a list to the page I want to be my shops main page myself and then link to individual categories?

    Thanks

    Sally

Could I please edit the above post to remove the link to my site? Thanks

    Hi Sally,

I am unable to edit you post above for you, that is controlled by the good folks at wordpress.org – I think that the author of the post has a short time to edit the content before it locks but that isn’t my area of expertise.

The way that other users have shown lists of categories is to use a menu structure or navigation. There isn’t currently a shortcode to create a sort of shop specific ‘sitemap’ of the different categories. Is that the sort of thing that you were looking for?

Please let me know and I can see if that type of shortcode would be easy to add.

    Cheers

    Hi Sally,

On your editing question – you can only edit your own post for a short time after creating it. There is an ‘edit’ link under your photo that stays there for at least 5 min but is gone after 35 for me so I am not 100% sure how long it is available. This is not something specific to the Simple Affiliate Shop plugin.
It is a feature of the support forums hosted at WordPress.org.

Do let me know if you have any other comments on the category? At the moment if you use [pg_sas_shop] it will show all the products in all categories (if the categories are under the default ‘shop-product’ category ). It does not show the categories as links or heading – is that what you would like to see?

    Cheers,

    Brian (PeoplesGeek)
