[Resolved] DIsplaying Author Pages

Is it at all possible to create an Author page that will display profile information for a user – even if they havent submitted a post or are just a Subscriber?

The standard Author template only seems to work if they have atleast one post.

  • You aren’t really an author if you haven’t written anything yet, are you? 😛

    Nope. 🙂

Within a client’s website only Authors will be allowed to create and submit posts, but the profile/details of all users, Subscribers/Authors/Editors, should be viewable by users (via the Author.php template or equiv) even if they havent submitted a post.

I guess it will have to be a case of creating my own custom template file for the author page – profile.php maybe.

    Well, a found a solution…

If I use the default Permalink structure (http://www.mydomain.com/?page_id=422) within the website, then my links to the Author page work and I can view the users profile even if thay are not associated with a post.

If i use a different Permalink method, its doesnt work.

    Strange.
