Something in the plugin delivery chain is broken then. To wit:
* Updated plugin this morning (version 2.2.3.1)
* Enabled the universal analytics option in All-in-one
* GA Analytics fails validation and …
* A page source search for ‘displayfeatures’ produces zero entries.
Would love to recommend all-in-one, but this is the second time claimed features were not functional.
I recommend checking your settings because the Google Analytics code is there. Also, did you use the Connect to Google button or did you paste your UA number in the field below?
Hmmmm. I missed the newish “display advertising” field.
Enabled the field, checked the source code and now see the ‘displayfeatures’.
But, GA is still rejecting validation. Tpical “Your Analytics tracking code does not include the necessary support for the Demographics and Interest reports” message that then points to the self-help page at https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/2444872?hl=en&utm_id=ad.
Any other config items necessary to get GA to believe everything is in order?
It could be that Google hasn’t crawled the site again since that change was made. I’ve seen it take a little while before they catch up with a change to the racking code on your site. I don’t know if they cache that information somewhere but I agree it’s annoying when you have the right analytics tracking code on your site but they still reject it.
Thanks. My gut tells me it isn’t a cache/delay problem since the “validate now” button presumably performs a fresh fetch.
For giggles, I disabled server-side caching and tried to validate once again. No-go.
REPEAT: Any other config items necessary to get GA to believe everything is in order? Already enabled UA ad Display Advertising.
No other steps are necessary. This is a Google issue and a known one.
Right you are. About a 16 hour lag, but the validation took this morning.
Thanks for your patience.
I don’t know why there’s such a lag but thank you for letting us know. This will greatly help others who are having the same issue with Google Analytics.
