Support » Plugin: RSVPMaker » Display times in browser timezone by default

    Hi,

We have events for four different timezones. But when creating an event with rsvpmaker, times are displayed in the timezone from WP settings. Users are confused by it. Is there an option to display events date-time(s) in browser timezone by default and without clicking a button? This seems more logical to me.

    Regards
    Hansa

The timezone can be changed on a per-event basis, and you can enable JavaScript-based detection of the user’s timezone, with timezone conversion.

Take a look at this post and let me know if it answers your question.

    Hi David,

It seems that CEST, AEST, EST, etc. confuses our users. Most of them have difficulties understanding the abbreviations. CEST for instance is rarely used in Western Europe. We say CET more often and even that abbreviation isn’t commonly used. Simply because Europe (except UK) is using the same timezone and we don’t cross zones often.

May I suggest a feature ‘convert-to-browser-timezone’? Users can then schedule events in WP-timezone without even knowing time zones exist. This option then automatically converts the specified times and dates to browser timezone. IMHO this makes it a lot more easier for admins as well as users.

    Best, Hansa

Will see what I can do.

Take a look at how this is handled in the latest release. Timezone conversion is displayed automatically (if event timezone not equal to your own timezone) and you can switch to show a different timezone if the one reported by your browser is not correct.
