Display recent user blog posts on home page (index.php)?

Hi There,

I’m using version 3.03 of wordpress (multisite enabled) with buddypress and I’m trying to get the most recent posts made by users (each user has their own blog) displayed on the home page, in full. I’ve tried the “Widgets on Pages” and “amr shortcode any widget” plugins but adding the code they give to the index.php page doesn’t work. Is there any way of achieving this?
I’d like this to appear beneath the main blog on the home page (The main blog is going to be left as one post as an intro to the site).
I’ve spent hours trying to get this to work to no avail, so any help is most appreciated.
