Support » Fixing WordPress » Display posts of only one category

  • Hi all, ive searched here in the support forum but was unable to find a solution tu my problem.
Latelly, the amount of daily posts in my site (mooviesonline.com) has increased, so the older posts are “going down” on the page at a very quick pace.
I’ve decided to redesign my page so that i split the posts based on the categories, so that i can display all posts from category 1 in one div and all of category 2 in another and so on.
Whats the function to do this? how can i make the wp loop to ignore a list of categories (i.e. i dont want to display the “general” posts where i display all the other posts that are not category 1 or 2)
Thank you all for your help.

  • Kitten’s Cats, er, Mookitty’s “Show Categories” plugin is what you need if you want to avoid messing around with PHP if statements. To be found by the usual means (searching the site, or the plugins page on the wiki).

    Yep, i think this’ll do it… thanks!!! 😀

I have a problem with this plugin
1: It does show more than the number of posts I have set in the wp-options. I have set it to show max 7 posts, but it shows all posts in that categry. How do I overcome this?
2: When updating a post (by either changig date, or moving it from another category) it don’t display. It is in my archives though.
This plugin is just great, so if someone could explain this beahvior I would appreciate it much.
    Cheers!
    Andy

In cases like this, I suggest you leave a note on the plugin author’s blog as well.
