Display posts basted on category (sidebar, main content)

    I would like to display my ‘sidebar’ posts separatley from my ‘mainContent’ posts. The purpose of this would be to have my sidebar post appear in the sidebar and my mainContent posts appear in the content section. My blog is a monthly newsletter and the sidebar has pictures/news relevant for the mont separate from the articles. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
