Support » Theme: Careta » Display of posts on post page – Part 2

  • Now that the first problem concerning the display of the posts on the posts page is solved (see previous support ticket; thanks you Lizwinterborne!), I have a corresponding issue. The NextCellent Gallery is now displayed 20 pixels from the top, which looks better than a zero margin, I think. But…
The posts are aligned to the left. This means that there is hardly any (grey) space on that side, but more on the right hand side. It would look nicer if all the posts were centered between the two sides (equal margins). Could anyone help me with this?

    My website:

The posts page is here: http://www.bonabene.nl/jouw-bijdrage

Probably you need to edit the style.css to get the result that you need.

    Yes, but how?

Probably I need to fix it using more spacing between the columns.
Let me try, and I post here some news.

I hope that you will succeed. It would certainly improve the looks of the Careta post page.

Please, download this version and send this version to your server
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/33236098/careta.zip and check if with this space between the boxes is better for you.

    Thank you!
I promote my site this week especially and for that reason I cannot risk a crash. Next week however I shall try it and let you know of course.
I suppose that I will have to open the zipfile in my dahboard, just like manually installing a new theme? Can you please confirm that?

Yes, you can upload the zip file via wp panel and install manually the theme for tests.

Yesterday I saw other pages with the same problem in layout and I’ll work on during next weeks.

I need a few days extra, but I am still here!

Today I tried to upload the zipfile to my website, but I got an error message, reading:
    Target folder already exists. /home/xxxxxxx/xxxxxxxxx/bonabene.nl/public_html/wp-content/themes/careta/

After that I noticed that there was an update of the Careta theme and installed it. The style sheet had changed after the update, for I lost the space at the top (see my other request for support). Which I regretted by the way…
Then I closed my browser and after some time I wanted to log in again. Bad luck…!

It’s a surprise for me, in my local tests and too, in my personal blog (at http://www.mcunha98.com) I don’t have any kind of problem to use the new version of theme.

My advice is check if any other content was updated in the same time and if other component cause this problem, because the theme don’t cause this kind of crash.

I visit your blog at http://www.bonabene.nl/jouw-bijdrage and see the theme works fine now, did you found the problem ?

    (@bonabene)

I did not find the cause of the error message. After the installation failure of the zipfile I did the update and the site crashed. I reinstalled it. So what you now see is the website as it was before the changes.
The message ‘target folder already exists’ surprised me, because I expected that the update would add a few lines to the already existing style sheet (which is present in the target folder Careta).

If you can, please .zip your content folder (images only) and send by email.
