[Resolved] Display multisite category and posts in main installation

  • I have successfully install 3.0 multisite. At first encounter problem with error 500 and 404 pages. For those having this problem most probably related to htacess file.

Anyway, I need to display all my subdomain site categories and postings into central location at the main installation.

For example, i have a site, let’say, http://www.abc.com and 2 subdomain sites with 123.abc.com and 789.abc.com. 123.abc.com has two categories with 5 postings and 789.abc.com has 3 categories with 3 postings.

How can i display all the categories and all postings under the those categories automatically in main site ie. http://www.abc.com

  • i’m looking for the same answer to this question, and one i’ve been playing around [with no luck] since the alpha release hit.

    Same for me 🙂

Don;t let the name of this plugin throw you off.
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-mu-sitewide-tags/

Set it to use the main blog/site. It won;t go back and get old posts, but it should pull new ones, along with all the post meta data. It does not get comments.

Seen in use here – http://homeschooljournal.net

I use feedwordpress. That mu sitewide is a tags.

Like I said, don’t let the name throw you off. It pulls all your post content, not just the tags.

If you start pulling feeds across your network, from within the network itself, you will eventually pull your site down.

hmmm.. will give it a shot. thanks andrea!

    Thanks andrea. It works. Awesome.

Added bonus: people can search the tags blog and search all the content in your site this way. 😉

(well, all the content it already pulled)

Yes. It done. It pulled the entire post inclusive of the description. Am using twenty ten theme. I saw the wordpress.com theme it only pull the image (half-size), subdomain link and post title. Wonder where to get those kind of mod. Like gallery view.

Regarding the tags blog, still figuring out how to do it.

Looks like it doesn’t show the comment count for each post, personally I think that is crucial.

Depends on what you’re going for, really. Might be able to get comments included in a future release. It also doesn’t currently pull thumbnails.

I want the posts from the sub-blogs to look essentially the same as the posts from the main blog – http://www.indonesiamatters.com/. People look at the comments count, regulars will also pay attention to whether the count has gone up or not, so they will know perhaps if someone has replied to them, or if things are getting ‘interesting’, ie there’s some debate going on.
