display main categories' posts, THEN subcategories' posts

    I’m trying to create a category template that works on any category and does the following:

    1. displays posts from selected category without displaying the selected category’s subcategories.
    2. Then displays the 3 most recent posts from the subcategory (if there are any)

    Thanks in advance, will post results if I figure it out on my own before some kind soul sets me straight.
