Just upgraded my blog to WordPress 2.2 from 2.1. Page formatting of the blog is now wonky in Firefox 2.0.0.4, but looks fine in Internet Explorer 7.

Could this have something to do with my YouTube and other embeds?

    Thanks for your help!!

Ha, thanks. The validator returned a bunch of errors, but as a newb, they’re mostly greek to me. I’ll start going through the issues one by one, but does there appear to be an over-arching issue with the site?

Looks fine to me in Safari 2.x. Not so good in Firefox. I get to guess You have an unclosed or misspelled html tag in your theme. Probably a div tag. If the posts have hand or plugin generated div tags inside, its a mismatch.

Question, though… if I had unclosed HTML tags in my theme, wouldn’t the problem be resolved if I changed themes? …because that doesn’t seem to do the trick.

Depends on the theme and browser. They all correct ah “errors”, ah “differently”

Your suspicion the youTube embed may well be correct. Certainly the first place to look for a missing or mis-spelled tag. If your content has css in it, you can see how that breaks some themes and some browsers. In my experience, when the sidebar drops off or down and the background disappers, it’s an extra div tag or unclosed tag or a css reference to something that isn’t what you want.
