[Resolved] Display Header on printout

  • I am using the Mantra theme and am very happy with it but I have found a problem and need some assistance. I am unable to print my webpage with the header/menu images. Being able to print out the webpage with that information is necessary. The main content and footer prints out just fine. I am using a custom header but I don’t know why that would make a difference. Any help is appreciated. The site is http://www.esummarize.com.

    Thanks in advance,
    Melissa

  • Update: I have tested with using just the Site Name and Tagline instead of custom header and it shows up, so is there a way to change the css to show the custom header? Is there a workaround where I could just display the image at the top of the page when someone wants to print it?
    Thanks!

    Does your theme have Custom CSS built in? If so, try adding this CSS:

    @media print {
    	img#bg_image {
               display: block !important;
               margin: 0 auto !important;
            }
    }

    Yes…IT WORKED!!! Thank you so much! You just made my day!

    I was trying the block with the header, not background image. I need to brush up on my css.

    WPyogi, do you ever get tired of being awesome?

    lissajo64 – that’s not actually a background image (despite the name of the image) – so that’s probably why you had a bit of difficulty. But I’m glad it worked – as it was a bit of a guess since I can’t test printing (from Starbucks – LOL).

    [LOL – I could say the same for you AN :)!]

    I need the menu tabs to display on the printout also. Got any css mojo that might work? By the way the header printed perfectly…

    The code I have tried is this:

    @media print {
    img#bg_image {
    display: block !important;
    margin: 0 auto !important;
    }
    #menu{
    display: block !important!;
    }
    }

    What am I missing here? Any help is appreciated!

    Try #access instead of #menu.

    Tried this and no luck

    /*media print override*/

    @media print {
    img#bg_image {
    display: block !important;
    margin: 0 auto !important;
    }
    #access
    {
    display: block !important!;
    }
    }
    I have been through the style.css many times and just can’t find it. I don’t know if this forum will allow me to put the entire style.css on here…would that help if I could?

    I FOUND THE PROBLEM!!! Just a stupid typo. It was access after all, I had and extra ! after the word important

    Thank you so much for your help!
