Support » Plugin: Events Maker by dFactory » Display Events as Post List

  • I would like to display the all events in the same manner as a regular post would display:

    • Title
    • Meta
    • Content/Excerpt
    • etc

I could find a way to do this so I started to extend the plugin. Is there anything built in the the plugin that would easily allow this, maybe shortcode?

What do you mean by regular posts? Is that your index page?

If so just disable templates in plugin settings and/or create in current theme a file called archive-event.php and make it’s content identical to archive.php of your theme.

    Thanks for quick reply.

By “regular post” I meant if you were to view a category (say news) you would have a list of posts showing title, meta, content etc. in the main site-content area.

    Anyway, I’ll try your suggestion.

    Thanks

OK, I think I may have been barking up the wrong tree in the original question.

Am I right in thinking archive-event.php will display a list of events?

If so shouldn’t navigating to http://<site-name>/events display that list (as defined in Permalinks)?

    Yes, exactly.

Events are just event post type so all the WordPress templates rules apply here. Plus some extra ones developed for the plugin to provide more flexibility in theme building.
