Display Date Problems in Mystique Theme

Hi everyone,

I just recently installed the Mystique theme for my self-hosted site. I had mystique on wordpress.com so I wanted to continue with the same theme. However, I’ve noticed that the date stamp on each post isn’t an actual date. Instead, it says “23 Hours” or “2 days” or “3 weeks”, meaning it was written that long ago. I really don’t like this set up at all, I much prefer the month and day displayed.

I’ve searched all over the dashboard looking for ways to change it. I altered the display date in the settings tab (under “general”) and it still didn’t do anything. I really know nothing about editing php files and css so if there’s something I have to do in these files, I really need it broken down simply.
