• Hello,

I’m using WPML for display different languages on my website. I translated messages from your plugin to Portuguese and English. I would like to display my language based on the Browser language. Simply, the default language appears, when i tried with the English Browser it still shows in Portuguese.

Once i have configured this situation in another site using WPML Browser detection. When i updated your plugin, it also stopped working.

What is a best way to set it up for different countries? What do you recommend?

I read this may be related to the server. How can i check my different age checks in different languages?

    I hope help.
    Thanks.

    Best Regards.

I understood what are happening. When i tried to test on Safari Browser ( in english ) displays texts in english. Only Chrome is not working. I have Chrome in English and Firefox in Portuguese.

    Hi @costasergio,

So is chrome showing the English or Spanish? Age Gate gets the current language from WPML so it should base it off that. Do you have a link I could test?

    Thanks

    Hi @costasergio,

I’ve had a look in chrome in English and the first time I visit it redirects me to /en. If I then go to the main URL it doesn’t send me to /en. If I clear all the cookies and do it again it will redirect me. I think this is probably a WPML issue rather than age gate.

It looks like it is intended behaviour based on their docs:

No Redirection When Refreshing the Browser
WPML will do this language redirect only once and then not redirect anymore. We do this to allow visitors to still switch languages. If we always push back to the browser’s language, visitors will not be able to manually switch languages after WPML redirects them to the language set by their browser.

This single-time redirect operation resets every 24 hours (which you can change too).

    Source: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/automatic-redirect-based-on-browser-language/#no-redirection-when-refreshing-the-browser

I know Polylang will always redirect, I’m surprised WPML doesn’t.

    Thanks

    Hello again,

Should i talk to WPML Support? Normally, We use WPML for our projects.

I detected a problem with mobile. Agecheck doesn’t direct to the site. I searched in your Agecheck support and We tried some configurations, but without success. Have you any solution to fix this problem too?

    Thanks for help.
    Best Regards.

    Hi @costasergio,

From the thread I found yesterday it doesn’t look like it’s something they’re going to change as that was from 2016.

I’ve had a look on mobile (iOS) and both languages seem to go through the the page after the check. What mobile are you using?

If you have any caching plugins or on the server you should use the JavaScript version from the “Advanced” settings tab.

    Thanks

    Thanks.

    Hi @costasergio,

Browserstack doesn’t have any of those, but I’ve tested it in other Android devices and can see you have now move to the JS version. If when you submit you don’t see a loading spinner then the previous version is cached and you’ll probably need to purge the site cache and maybe even the one on the phone.

You can alway bust the cache for testing but adding a query string, e.g. http://montedacapela.com/?v=2345

    Thanks
    Phil
