    Hello,

The very large SSO notice that displays in the WordPress admin is never permanently dismissed when using the “X” button or the text link. This is quite annoying as it takes up so much space and is visible in various sections of the admin panel.

    Cheers,

I’m glad that you’re reporting this issue as this is definitely not normal.

Almost all notices are tucked away under an “SSO” notification icon in the top toolbar — very few are displayed in the actual content area, since WordPress does a poor job if handling and displaying notification messages — and almost all are dismissible, unless there’s a serious problem being reported that must be fixed immediately (and fixing the problem removes the notice).

And, obviously, if there’s a “dismiss” link, then the notification can be dismissed permanently or for the time suggested (some notifications are serious, but can be dismissed for a few months, for example).

If a notice has been dismissed, and the same notice is shown again, before the dismiss time has expired, then this could indicate a problem with Ajax calls, the WordPress transient cache, or the WordPress user option table.

I would suggest you enable the WP_DEBUG constant and activate the Query Monitor plugin, as suggested here https://wpsso.com/docs/plugins/wpsso/installation/troubleshooting-guide/ and make sure your site is error free.

You could also try clearing all transient objects and clearing all user dismissed notices under the SSO > Tools and Actions page, in case the WordPress database or object cache is stuck and needs a forceful reset.

    Hello,

    Thanks for the reply.

After updating to the latest release, it seems like the notices are being dismissed permanently on our sites.

    Cheers,
