Support » Plugin: Beautiful Cookie Consent Banner » Dismiss on Scroll but not Allow

  • Hello Dear Support!

The plugin is great and simple to use!
    However, I have one question:
There is an option which I use a lot – Allow on Scroll. But the problem is that is actually dismisses the consent and not allow the consent of cookies.

Is there any way to make it “Agree” on Scroll?

    Hope to hear you back.
    Thank you.
    Artur.

    Hi @sulainisart,

i am not sure if I understand your problem.
The current behaviour of “Allow on Scroll” is:
If you scroll down, all cookies are accepted, so everything is allowed.

So it is already “agree on scroll”.
With your copliance setting on the page “Just Info”, there is “no allow” as the user has no choice, he can only dismiss.

Can you describe more in detail what problems you have exactly?

    Hello @nikelschubert !

I am happy to hear you back!
In fact, I was wondering if there is a way like you said there is no allow for this setting – Just info.
Because anyway I do not use cookies that need (only google analytics – with anonymized IP) agreement here in Italy, but It would be always good to have an Agreement.
so if I choose other options it gives me a much bigger banner (with the checkboxes).

So yeah, there is nothing I can do to make it Agreed instead Dismiss, or maybe change the form factor of the other types of banner, taking away the checkboxes?

    Thanks again!
    Artur.

    Hi,

ah now i get it, you want to block google analytics until the users “dismisses” the banner.

Will check if that will somehow make problems with the logic.

    Hello @nikelschubert !

Thank you again for your quick response!

No, but I believe I am not expressing myself properly and also keep that in mind that is a VERY minor issue – and not an issue at all, but only a detail.

So, basically, do have a cookie consent (Allow) you said that it works only in
Differentiated Consent – 1 Button/2buttons. But when I choose this option, the only detail (issue:) a have that it adds a checkbox under the text which makes the banner a little bit bigger.

So I was just wondering (To have cookie allowance) I have to keep this option –
Differentiated Consent – 1 Button, which gives me the checkbox – can you make this checkbox aligned with the text? to not let it create the other like just for itself, under. Or even near the Consent button, so everything will be in one single line and will make the banner a lot slimmer?

Otherwise, the second option, with the “Just tell the user we use cookies.” option, can you make it Allow on a scroll and not dismiss?

I repeat it is not any real issue, but just make it slimmer, the banner.

PS. thank you really for your time and I know I can be a ball breaker sometimes haha

Cheers! hope to hear you back.

    Hi @sulainisart,

thanks for the feedback. I will keep that in mind, when I work on the banner layout in future as an additional feature, regarding the checkboxes.

Regarding the “dismiss / allow” on scroll: if the setting is “just inform”, the only option is dismiss. So you can treat a dismiss as a allow. Because this cookie is only set after you click “ok” if you do not klick anything you get no cookie at all.
I am aware that this is not optimal, I kept this due to backwards compatibility.

    I hope I could help.

    Regards
