Discussion – Easy set up?

    Hi, I am looking to use WordPress to be a place where anyone can add to existing discussions and set up new ones. Most of the people who we will be targeting for this will probably not have worked with Blogs before. I believe as it currently stands registering and then setting up a discussion theme will put most of them off. I have trialled this and all those who took part said they would not continue as the wordpress page is too confusing. Is it possible to have a simple page that someone can register and then have a button on the front page that says ‘New Discussion’ or something similar?

    If it is a “discussion place” – why not use a proper tool, like a discussion/bulletin board/forum software?

    I agree that sure sounds like a Forum you’re describing. What feature of WP are you attracted to for this project?

    Hi Moshu and Dgold, thank you both for your replies. I was recommended wp. This was possibly due to my lack of explanation for requirements.

    I will look at forum software.
