    This is either a bug, or a misconfiguration on my part.

    Using the demo on your website, I created a rule that if I buy the Polo t-shirt, I get a $3 discount on the vneck t-shirt, and it’s automatically added to my cart.

    When I add the Polo to the cart, the vneck t-shirt is also added automatically, as expected. But if I don’t want the vneck t-shirt and I try to remove it from the cart, I get a message saying that it was removed, but it doesn’t really get removed. And there’s no way to remove it, unless I also remove the Polo.

    We do provide external customization as a code snippet that can be added to your site when you are using this type of rule, to use the close option to remove the auto-added product.

    Unfortunately, this cannot be added to the demo site.

    What will this code snippet do?

    – Will it prevent the discounted product from being auto added to the cart?
    – Will it allow the visitor to remove it from the cart once it’s been added?

    This code snippet will allow visitors to remove it from the cart if they do not want to purchase it and will not re-add the item again on the same cart.

    Can you please make sure that you have added the snippet correctly ?
    Instead of adding to the functions.php, can you please try using this method (via the Code Snippets plugin)

    and see if it helps.

    Another Friendly Note:

    Usually customers would not remove a free product when it gets added to the cart. It is a rare customer behavior 🙂

    I am actually already using the code snippets plugin. Thats how I added your code snippet.

    There is not live chat button on your website. I tried with safari and chrome.

    Also the additional product is not free, its just discounted.

    That’s weird. Also the chat button will always be visible at the bottom right corner of the site.

    It would be great if you can send with the screenshots of your discount rule configuration. And the screenshot of the code snippet set up you have made. That would help us a lot.
