• I am writing this to warn other users about this company’s customer service and billing practices.

After an unexpected renewal charge occurred on a deactivated website, I reached out to WP Plover support. They acknowledged the situation and, as a courtesy, explicitly offered to issue a partial refund (minus a 20% service fee). I responded to confirm that I accepted this resolution.

However, because my reply took a few days and ended up in my spam folder, support completely went back on their offer. They claimed that because I didn’t reply within 48 hours, the “exception window” had expired and they would no longer refund a single dime.

The issue? At no point in their initial email or offer did they state there was a 48-hour expiration window.

Holding customers to secret, uncommunicated deadlines to keep their money is a highly deceptive and unprofessional business practice. If a courtesy refund has an expiration date, common courtesy dictates you tell the customer. While the plugin itself might work, be very careful with their billing. If anything goes wrong, do not expect transparent or fair treatment from their support team.

  • Hi @stephhhbock

Thank you for sharing this. We’re sorry it left you feeling misled, and we’re happy to clarify things openly.

Our standard refund policy (which is publicly available on our Refund Policy page and in our EULA) does not cover renewal payments. As a one‑time courtesy in cases like yours, we do offer a 48‑hour window where a partial refund can be requested, minus a 20% processing fee. This 48‑hour timeframe is publicly available in our refund policy.

When you reached out, we responded within that window and offered this exception. Because the time limit is already laid out in our policy, we didn’t restate it in that reply — though we understand now that doing so might have helped avoid any misunderstanding.

To be fair, we do try to accommodate reasonable delays — for example, those caused by time zone differences — and we have made exceptions beyond 48 hours in the past. In your case, however, your confirmation arrived roughly two weeks after the renewal. That is significantly beyond what we can accommodate, which is why we were no longer able to process the refund.

We regret any frustration this caused, but we never intended to hide a deadline or act in bad faith. We’ll be taking this as a learning point to explicitly state confirmation timeframes in all future communications.

Please note that, per the wordpress.org forum guidelines, we do not allow discussions of paid products or transactions here. If you need further assistance, kindly reach out to us directly via email at team@wpplover.com. We’ll be glad to help there.

    Warm regards,
    WP Plover Support Team
