I would suggest checking out your plugins and/or if anyone else has had editing access to the site, or maybe if there’s some added code? None of our updates would’ve been able to do this, as there’s no code in them that could do this – plus, this wouldn’t even allow us to release an update, as the code gets scrutinised by WordPress’ code reviewers.
I can say for sure that this must definitely come from somewhere else. However, since I do not know how your website has been developed, I’m not fully sure what I should recommend here.
Maybe you could keep a closer eye on the site when this happens?

No plugins changed. No other access to site. The only thing I can think of is that I tried out the plugin Reusable Blocks Extended to test it out and later deleted it. I suppose it’ possible it corrupted some code. Other than that nothing changed other than updates to the theme & plugins which never presented this issue before. I really cannot comment on other plugins as I do not know how they have been developed. However, it does sound like a potential thing that might’ve happened, seeing as the plugin has been last updated 10 months ago.
WordPress has definitely changed the system in the last 10 months.

Hey wordmax I’ve been having the same issue on my footers and sidebar. tried the same things as you. Did you get anywhere with fixing it?
Hi @corralesl no unfortunately I had no luck finding the reason that sidebar was randomly disappearing. Unacceptable, so I ended up turning off the side-bar in the theme because it was frustrating. Did you have similar experience after trying the reusable blocks extended plugin? Or was your disappearing sidebar/footer unrelated to it?

@wordmax i’ve no idea what’s causing it. I just started noticing that my widgets were disappearing from my footer. Then I tried seeing if the same thing was happening in the sidebar by adding in a spacer. And it was happening there too. The only stuff i’ve changed is adding and removing plugins. But I also tried restoring a back up to before then and I still had the same problem. It’s been driving me nuts!! And i’ve spoken to my theme provider and A2 hosting and neither know why.
