    Is there any reason the plugin doesn’t work if disallow_file_mods is enabled?

    As far as i know, that constant will just disallow plugin and theme installation, but i could be wrong.

    In many production sites, you don’t want users to be able to install and update themes and plugins, and it would be really sad if that meant you can’t use Redis plugin either.

    It’s for any kind of file modification. If you only want to disallow installation, but allow theme updates or drop-in modifications you can refined permissions.
