Support » Fixing WordPress » Disabling New Registation

  • First off, I am very impressed with WP, I know I will have great fun using it to it’s fullest. This is just a quick question I’d like to throw out though. I do not want users to be able to register accounts on my site (can create a user manually if need be). Should I just remove the register php and all links to it, or is there a better way of going about this? Thank you for your time =).

  • 1.) Login to your admin account
    2.) Select Options
    3.) Select Base Settings
4.) Set the line users_can_register to false
    Voila! You’re done.

As added precaution (in addition to tontamoo’s post) I removed the register.php file AND the link…. haven’t had any problems.

Thx you very much for both =), I missed that option while browsing, although I figured it existed.
