Disabled LLMS.TXT and now shows as a broken link

    Hello,

    A while back, I enabled the LLMS option in Yoast. I then decided to disable it. Now, using SEM Rush, it shows up as an error (404). It almost seems like it is still trying to call the txt file even when this option has been disabled. Maybe something wasn’t removed after disabling? Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Hello @jdphoenix,

    Thanks for reaching out. I confirmed the file returns a 404 error. Please check the root of your website folder and ensure the file is no longer present. Also, after a while bots will stop seeing and reporting the 404 since the file truly no longer exists.

    Okay, thank you. One last question, I’m leaning towards creating and managing my own llms.txt file. If I leave the llms.txt option “disabled” on Yoast will it have any negative effect on the website or the llms.txt I manually added? Thanks
