I needed to troubleshoot a problem which typically starts by deactivating all plugins and activating them 1 by 1 until you find the problem. However, the moment I deactivated them all, I was kicked out of the admin and am unable to get back in. I was using the “hide backend/login” feature.

I’ve been searching Google for the last hour and have checked the .htaccess file and other things but am not finding a solution.

And yes, I’ve checked the standard WP login pages too and they are not working.

    Hi,

What’s happening when you try to access the login page? Are you getting an error, redirect or something else?

    Thanks,

Well, it was giving me a 404 when trying to use the custom URL. The wp-login.php and wp-admin.php pages were completely blank.

At this point, my host has fixed the login situation and we have uninstalled iThemes Security.

    Hi,

If you do reactivate it please set WP_DEBUG to true and let us know what errors you see.

    Thanks,

To be honest, I’m afraid to reinstall it. This is a brand new client for me and I took the blame for them not being able to access their admin for 3.5 hours this morning.

While researching the issue, I found an article about how your own site got hacked due to your security practices. Between that and what happened this morning, I have no faith in the stability of your product.

Not trying to be a jerk here, just looking out for my best interest and that of my clients.
