    Hi Bruxo
Unfortunately, you cannot limit specific users from voting on specific images. But that is a nice idea. How do you imagine that working? How do you see the interface?

    Hi Shauno,

From an admin perspective, I would be great to have a select box to allow/disallow self-votes on NGG Voting settings panel. So this option would affect all galleries/images.

From a user perspective, the ideal solution would be to disable the voting buttons click (but still showing actual votes), if the image author is the same as logged user. If not, another solution would be display a message once the user has voted for himself (similar to message displayed if it had previously voted the image).

Do you think it would be possible?

So your users literally are uploading their own images? That’s pretty straight forward, and would just mean putting an extra checkbox in the voting options.

But do you think there might be a need to extend the scope of this feature a little, just so it’s useful to more people than just you? 🙂
For instance, maybe webmasters have people email in their images, and the admin adds the images to the gallery. That way, the admin is the author of all the images to the code. Maybe there could be a drop down of users, and the admin selects who cannot vote on each image?

For sure I could be the only person in this planet that would like this feature (or not) :).

Yes, site users upload themselves images to their (previously created) galleries, that’s why I had to make some changes in your code, to disable some feature. For example users site cannot see the voting options column) on their gallery (only some admin users can). I had also to disable some NextGen features as “Add new gallery”. For sure, NGG Voting panel is also not visible on WP Dashboard for “regular” users.

That’s why I think that a global option would be the simplest solution from an administration perspective and maybe technical too.

Adding an option to stop self-voting should be pretty straight forward, but I need to be careful of adding code that ‘bloats’ the plugin for most users.
I will investigate the best way of handling this, and let you know the plan.

The option to limit could be disabled by default, so “regular” behaviour would remain the same.

Let me know if I can help. 🙂

    Thank you Shauno.
