  • I’m having the same problem but the script isn’t working. Put the script in at the bottom but it didn’t take the testimonials posts page away. Do I need to move the script elsewhere within the functions.php?

I’m using a current release of the Divi theme. Could that have something to do with it?

Hi Emma, I have the script in functions.php and it works fine.
I remember at first the /testimonials/ archive page didn’t disappear – perhaps a caching issue?

Then it started returning a 500 error. Not it’s returning a 404 which is better.

Do you have a page with the slug testimonials in your site? I’d rename that to something like client-testimonials, then you can set a 301 redirect from /testimonials/ to the new one.

Used the Redirection Plugin for the 301 redirect to /client-testimonials. Works great! Thanks for the suggestion.

You’re welcome – the script to disable the archive page should work, though

I’m not entirely sure why I couldn’t trigger the 500 or 404 errors for the testimonials post. I am working via localhost. None of the plugins seem to be affecting the script. I don’t think I have any other script that would interfere. I have a live demo up via Forward: https://eit.fwd.wf/EIT_WP/
