How do I disable the featured image that my theme auto inserts using the first photo that loads in the ad?

Hi,
this depends on the theme itself mainly, if you paste here a link to the page where you are having this problem i can send you back a code that will hide the featured image.

One other way to do that (although it does not work with all the themes), is to use a plugin like Hide Featured Image https://wordpress.org/plugins/hide-featured-image/
