   to input their email twice?

   email”

 * yes, but in this case, as I understand, people wont receive confirmation messages.
   But I need to send confirmation messages, but without putting email twice in 
   the form. Is it possible?

 * As someone who has been working with websites for over 20 years, believe me when
   I tell you that no matter how many times a person has typed their email address,
   sometimes they will make a mistake.
 * It is standard practice, especially when requiring confirmation, for email addresses
   to be entered twice to ensure accuracy.
 * Here’s the other part of it. If you require confirmation and the person makes
   a typo, they will never receive it and their signature won’t be added to the 
   list. Is it worth it?
 * I am interested in hearing why you would want only a single email field.

 * I hear ya…
 * If your petition has value and people are motivated by it, one more field won’t
   bother them.
 * This is the first such request, since I do all the work on SpeakOut! for (very,
   very, few) donations, I am unlikely to spend the amount of time required to implement
   an idea that isn’t really needed and I don’t even like 😛
 * But I sincerely appreciate you asking and engaging in a conversation about it.
