Disable preformatted paste

  • When using CTRL+V to paste from the clipboard into a post, the default is to paste with the formatting preserved, is there any way to change this?

I’m reading something I want to use, select the text, press CTRL+C and when I paste the contents into the post I get the original formatting, colors, size etc. I don’t want that, just the plain text please 🙂

You didn’t mention what version of WordPress you’re using.

If 2.5+, the right most toolbar button in the post editor is “Show/Hide Kitchen Sink.”
Click it and get another row of buttons.
In that second row, you’ll find a couple more paste options to experiment with.

Hm, my WP version (2.5.1) was not in the dropdown list so I typed it in the field next to it.

I should have mentioned that I know about the paste option buttons, I’d just like to get rid of this behavior as I never want to keep the formatting and I sometimes forget myself and use CTRL+V.
