Disable post-revisioning.

    Can it be entirely disabled?

    I’ve read that adding define(‘WP_POST_REVISIONS’,false); will turn it off, but that it continues to work behind the scenes even after setting as above.

    The difference between auto-save and revisions can be confusing at first.
    Revision Management

    Revisions can be completely disabled, or you can set the maximum number of revisions allowed if you like. If you want to disable it quickly, and without file editing, you might want to have a look at the features in this plugin. Disabler
