disable post in forum; only in sub forum

is it possible to disable people from creating posts in the “mother” forum but on its sub-forums only?

i tried clicking the ‘closed’ checkbox but it’s not working.

Closed should do the trick for normal users. The point is, that administrators/moderators can always create new topics everywhere. So if you are fine that you as an administrator still can see that button, it should be no problem because normal users cant. 🙂

yup, you were right. subscribers can’t post with the ‘closed’ button is ticked.
