I need two things – will the pro version do them?

    1. Calendar link needs to go to post – no popup. And…
    2. Can events be color-coded in the calendar?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello @bcobin,

    Thanks for your questions!

You do not need Pro to disable the tooltip. Here’s a guide to doing just that: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/hiding-tooltips-in-month-and-week-view/

You can use the free plugin, Category Colors, to color code your calendar: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/the-events-calendar-category-colors/

Let us know if you have any more question.

    Good day!
    John 🙂

Thanks for the quick response, John – much appreciated!

But I’m having no luck here at all. I should say that I’m working in Elementor, BTW.

    Here’s what’s happening step-by-step:

I set up my categories with colors, etc… fine.
    I create an event… fine.

If I go to View Calendar from the dropdown, I don’t get a calendar; I get a text block like so:

    ——-

    Archives: Events

Loading view. Events Search and Views Navigation Search Enter Keyword. Search for Events by Keyword. Find Events Event Views Navigation Month List Month Day Canvassing Conference Election Fundraiser General Interest Holiday Meeting Phone Banking Rally Workshop This Month 4/3/2024 April 2024 Select date. Calendar of Events M Mon T Tue W Wed T Thu F Fri S […]

In Elementor, I create a page and add the Event Calendar widget. There are no numbers on the days, no evidence of categories and despite adding the CSS, the event info still pops up. (I’ll repeat here that the link should go straight to the post, which I don’t believe the CSS would do, regardless.)

    Here’s the page:

I just need a color-coded calendar where the calendar entry would link to the post. I’ve been doing this in Drupal for years and I’ve spent the better part of three days now trying to find a solution in WordPress. Am I barking up the wrong tree here? Thanks in advance for any help!

    Some progress:

If I set Events > Settings > Display to Default Events Template, the Events > View Calendar dropdown now shows the color-coded calendar in a non-elementor page. (The Elementor templates don’t work at all.)

The problem now is getting it into the site. The widgets produce what I’ve listed above. I tried embedding a shortcode, but I couldn’t get a calendar display – just a list.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance…

Just found this post, which seems to indicate that Elementor integration simply doesn’t work.

Next stop: Modern Events Calendar, as per the post.

    Hi @bcobin

    Thanks for your response.

Just to clarify, it seems like you’re attempting to implement an Elementor template for your Events Calendar page. However, please keep in mind that this will only function properly if you’re currently using an Elementor theme. Unfortunately, it won’t work with a non-Elementor theme at this time.

Let me know if you have further concerns.
