    Thanks for a great plugin!

Often on iPads, the Sticky Menu behaves differently than on a standard desktop/laptop. While normally our header/menu remain absolutely locked into place perfectly, on iPads the menu tends to scroll first, then snap back into place – then sometimes, it doesn’t snap back into place and remains “stuck” in the middle of the page.

Can this either be corrected, or can we disable the plugin just for iPad/tablets?

    Thanks for any help!

  • I believe that iPads just work a little differently when it comes to that sort of stuff. Basically, that the stickiness doesn’t kick in right away when the element reaches its sticky point, but after scrolling is done. I’ve seen this before here and there.

Not entirely sure, I’ll have to do more tests.

To disable it for iPad, you could use some Javascript that detects if it’s an iPad, but for other tablets…I’m not sure. You’d be forced to check if the device has touch screen, but that’s a whole other can of worms.

The simplest solution I can think of is to disable the functionality for all devices that have a screen that’s 1024 or smaller, but then it would also not work on 1024 desktop screens of course.

    Mark,

Just to understand, will you be investigating a method to cope with this on iPads, or is it a low priority at this time?

    Thanks for your insight 🙂

    James

Wouldn’t say it’s low priority, but not exactly top priority either. Will definitely look into it, just not very sure when.
