 * One of my websites (www.russellislandbb.com.au)was installed as a multisite.
I need to disable the multisite function.
How and where do I do it ? If complicated,
can you direct me to the instructions. Thank you.

 * Basically go to the config file and change the the multisite from true to false.

Also i think i put the .htaccess file back to the default for a basic wp install.
Hope i remember that right, as I have been going around in circles setting up
the the structure for my complex range of community groups. url—groupsoz.com—
I think I have sorted it. Now I need to build them. 🙂

 * Stupid question here, but how do I find the config file, or any of the other
files for my WP sites? I know they must be somewhere, but I have no idea how
to access the file structure for any of my websites…!

 * To be able to make these changes you first need to login go to the control panel
of your host (often called cpanel). Then click on FileManager. In filemanager
go to the folder of your wordpress install, in there you will find all the files
including the config file and the .htaccess file. In filemanager you can access
and edit most the files. As a precaution do a backup before making changes. Have
   fun 🙂

 * Hi,
I know this subject is quite old, but I would like to add important information
for futures visitors : yes, you need to modify wp-config.php file and remove
multi-site options, but it is not enough at all !!!
 * Beware if you only do that, every internal links will be broken !
 * It’s ok if you are building a new site, but if you already have content, you
will need to update your database to be able to recover all information.
    the
file structure is different if you set up a multi-site rather than single site,
so you need to move you files on the server AND update the database to modify
   all folder links !
 * Sorry, I have no detailed tutoriel link to provide, but google might help you(
I am French so I can provide you with a tuto in French : [http://marieguillaumet.com/desinstallation-dun-wordpress-multisite/](http://marieguillaumet.com/desinstallation-dun-wordpress-multisite/)).
