Disable local storage

    Hi, I need to backup my site and I don´t have enough space, is it possible to disable local storage and backup only to an external location? In my case it would be an ftp server.
    The option to do that is on the screen but not working.

    Hello,

    Unfortunately, that’s not possible, backup is done on the site server and then is moved on the remote storage.

    I optimized all images to 82 compression level, and excluded all WP folders (wp-admin, wp-includes, languages). Entire uploads folder is backed-up separately once, and then only last year included. Bulky plugins like Jetpack can also be excluded.
    If you know what you are doing, database can be checked for junk and cleaned.
    That’s how I can function even with 200mb freee space in a 2gb account.

    I assume you already used the setting Delete local copy after transfer
