Hi there, a really awesome plugin! Just one question – is it possible to turn off Google Fonts?

    Many thanks and best regards!

Hi, and glad you like it so far 🙂

Currently the plugin doesn’t provide way to turn off Google Fonts, but you can limit the number of fonts you want to use from the plugin settings in the sidebar.

Why do you want to disable Google Fonts? (plugin won’t load a Google Font in the front end unless you use them in a block)

    Thanks!

Thank you for the quick reply! It’s because of GDPR. (in Germany) it is recommended not to use them or install them locally.

So, would it be possible to only use my local installed fonts with Kioken?

Oh now I understand. Unfortunately for now Kioken Blocks only fetches the fonts from Google URLs, but noted this as feature request.

We’ll look into ways for either disable or load Google Fonts locally.

    Thanks!

    That would be awesome 🙂

There is another reason we need to be able to disable the fonts extension: The more fonts used in a site the slower the pages that use them; and, going for 3 reasons, sites get messy when people start playing with fonts that should usually be set in the CSS.

I read about Kioken Blocks in WP Tavern a few moments ago. I’m about to install the plugin in a couple of sites. Would be nice if the extra blocks and the block extensions were modular so that unnecessary features can be disabled. I use EditorsKit in a number of sites and some features overlap with those provided by Kioken Blocks.

Thank you for Kioken Blocks. I hope it is as much fun to use as it looks. I’m sure it is.

@leehodson thank you very much for your inputs. We’re definitely looking into better modularizing the features of the KB and there’s a work going on around this.

We’ll let you know once there’s something new about it.

    Thanks a lot
