• Is it possible to disable editing? That is, make it so no one can edit their posts — except, maybe, the level 10. This is very important, as the information on this blog will likely be used in courts and it cannot be editable. Also, I need to disable the ability to change timestamps.

  • User levels 1-4 cannot edit timestamps (assuming you’re using WP 1.5). I think all users can always edit their own posts.

But a word of caution: It would always be possible to change any field in the database directly with a tool like PHPMyAdmin, completely bypassing WP. Of course access to the webserver is required to edit the database, so maybe that’s not a problem.

For the changing of time and unless someone comes up with another method, you could edit the admin template to remove that option from display. Not an ideal solution, but it would work.

I guess I could edit out links to post editing too, but that is less than ideal. Is there a way to change the admin capabilities by editing the php somewhere so that I could just remove editing rights?

    Thanks, by the way.

It may not be necessary to totally remove editing writes, would it be possible to send all edits to the moderation queue?
