# Disable changes to checkout fields

 * Hello,
    We use the woocommerce API to create our client accounts on our webshop.
   So the client gets a login and it’s details such as street, place etc are already
   filled in.
 * Now when a client is in the checkout they can still modify those details. We 
   want to disable this. So that our clients aren’t able to change any fields in
   the checkout. Is this possible?

 * Yes, that’s possible if you use the `disabled` attribute on the text fields on

 * It’ll need a bit of customising of the checkout fields. More information on that

 * Hello, thanks for the fast reply!
    I think this will make the fields disappear
   no? I would still want to display them so the client still sees it but just can’t
   modify it.

 * It would not make the fields disappear, but rather make them greyed out. There’s
   a tool that lets you try this out in the page that I mentioned above. When greyed
   out, customers cannot change the data in the input field 🙂
