  • How to disable author ability to edit someone else’s image upload? I know there’s a way to fully disable author or contributor from uploading image, but how to do it partially, so they cannot edit other author’s image data (caption, alt, description etc)?

I’m thinking like one author cannot edit another author post.

    Thanks

  • Try installing a user role editor plugin, Capability Manager Enhanced is a popular choice which offers a lot of role editing options, it may be able to do what you’re looking for.

    Hope this helps.

I just check your link, and its WP plugin, I see that the plugin can change editor permission to edit upload by others, however this only available for pro for $50. I’m not gonna buy it just to edit this one.

You can try going through some other User Role plugins, there are several available.

    Hope this helps.

@muchmuch11: You seem to be confusing things, the mentioned plugin is free of charge and you can simply download it through the following link or via your WordPress dashboard: https://wordpress.org/plugins/capability-manager-enhanced/

@themesumo Thank you, currently browsing it.

@mh-themes Just recheck it, fortunately the function that I want is available on Capability Manager Enhanced, with Permit Press Free. Permit Pres also available with pro version, I thought I have to buy its pro version to get this specific function. My bad.

Is there a way to get this function (disable author/contributor capability to edit others media) without adding 2 plugins? Maybe using a simple code? The plugins seem heavy.
