Support » Plugin: Easy Updates Manager » Disable all automatic update

  • Resolved worldfusion

I’m contacting you because last time I did an update on my live website, it created some mess. Since I created a stage website so I could test the updates before to do these in my main website.

Nevertheless I’ve noticed that my version of WordPress has been updated automatically to 4.99 without any confirmation. And since I’ve read that there were major release in the version 5.0, and probably some conflicts with my other plugins, I was expecting to feel safe enough with my stage website.

I found that this plugin could help me to desactivate all automatic update.
I’ve downloaded the plugin and activated it but I’ve one question because it’s not enough clear for me:

When I go to Dashboard->Update Option, there are different configuration.
In “Automatic updates”, I’ve clicked on “Nothing”. So if I understand correctly it should solve my issue.
But then I had some doubts are there are “WordPress core updates”, “Plugin updates”. Do I need to click as well on “disable core updates” and “disable plugin updates”. Or these two parts are only to disable a manual update.

I’m still planning to be able to update wordpress and plugins. But just I want to do it manually in my website and not automatically, when I’m sure there is no conflicts.

Thank you in advance for your help

    Best regards

You don’t need to click on WordPress core updates or disable plugin updates. That is a drastic measure.

If you do not want WordPress to automatically update, click Custom for automatic updates and disable major releases and enable minor releases.

    Hi Ronald,
Thanks a lot for your answer.
    Have a nice WE
