    Hi Team

Before going to pro mode (I need multiple categories) I need a solution to remove the [Add Media] button when the WP visual editor is chosen in USP. I have read other topics here stating that the [Add Media] is only visible to Admins and Editors, but on my site also Subscribers get this button (and they confuse it with the Image up-loader from USP.

    Please advice.

    Hi basdebruin,

Glad to help. By default, USP follows WP core and does not display the “Add Media” button unless the user has the required capabilities (e.g., upload_files). So if you are seeing the Add Media button displayed for Subscribers, Contributors, etc., then something must have added the “upload” capabilities to those particular user roles.

One thing you can do is install a user role plugin, and then inspect the capabilities of your Subscriber role. From what you’ve explained, it sounds like you will see that the upload_files capability is enabled. From there, you can disable the capability easily so Subscribers will not see the Add Media button.

I hope this helps, let me know if I can provide any further infos, glad to do so.
