Hi, not a bug or anything just a possible feature request. I’m considering starting a Patreon campaign and I’d like to give my Patreon subscribers the option to use Adblock and not get the appeal screen. Effectively, I want a way to disable Adblock detector for certain user accounts. Is this possible? Perhaps via another plugin? Thanks.

  • Hello BuckoA51,

This is not currently a built-in capability. It could be implemented using JavaScript, but would be somewhat complex.

There are plugins, however, that toggle the display of content based on username or user roles. One of my favorites is Eyes Only: User Access Shortcode. You can place your ad within a Eyes Only shortcode, then put that shortcode in an Ad Blocking Detector shortcode, or, probably more effective for your use case, reverse that and put your Ad Blocking Detector shortcode inside an Eyes Only shortcode.

I will consider implementing this within Ad Blocking Detector, but it’s a bit out of the scope of the plugin’s purpose, and would take some time to implement effectively.
