Sorry that you ran into issues here!
First thing I would check is a conflict test.

Make sure you do both a theme and plugin conflict check at the same time.
Beyond that, I’d confirm that the page you’re looking at has the [business-directory] shortcode on it, and that shortcode is in a place that can expand (for example, some page builders will allow you to put that into a block that doesn’t run the main page loop in WP, preventing expansion.
If you see the physical shortcode on the page, most likely it’s a conflict or a lack of expansion…but a conflict test should help identify the culprit.
