I have used this plugin in the past to make files that I uploaded via FTP show up in the Media folder. It was easy and simple.

I am trying to do this now but when I go to Media < Add From Server, I don’t show any files in the directory that show uploads.

Strangely, I did at first, but when I clicked them, the screen went away and changed to another list of folders – all of which, when I click on, nothing happens.

Is there something I have done wrong? Why is this no longer working?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

When I use a new incognito window and go to do this again, it first gives me the options of viewing: Parent folder, all of my plugins, and “uploads/” folder. But then, when I click on “uploads/”, the screen changes and the directory reads “//” with a lost of files titled:

    Parent folder
    ar/log/
    ev/
    ib/
    ib64/
    in/
    mp/
    sr/
    tc/
    ww/

When I try to click on any of these blue clickable links, the page reloads and gives me the same thing with no option to go back in the directory.

    Hey @evanhall,

Thanks for the bug report, based on the list you’ve shown there I’m fairly certain I know what’s happening.

I’ll push an update out to fix that one in a few hours hopefully.

If that doesn’t fix it, Temporarily (or forever), you should be able to add this to your wp-config.php file above the “Stop editing” comment:
    define( 'ADD_FROM_SERVER', '/www/' );

Hello I have been using the plugin for years now with no issues. Now all of a sudden on all of my websites, the plugin is no longer showing me the correct root so I am unable to upload anything. It is the same issue as what the other guy said above, I get all these weird parent folders:
    b/
    b64/
    c/
    in/
    n/
    n/
    oc/
    ot/
    p/
    r/
    r/
    ripts/
    s/
    t/
    v/
    Show hidden files

I tried putting in the the code into the wp-config file and then I just get a warning but doens’t change anything…

I experiencing the same as the above comments by evanhall
    I did the following That was mentioned above: wp-config.php file above the “Stop editing” comment: define( ‘ADD_FROM_SERVER’, ‘/www/’ );

Now I get this when I try to import my files: see blow starting after Add From Server.
I have no idea how to get back to where I usually have my files stored which is:
    /wp-content/uploads/Public

    Add From Server
    bin/
    boot/
    dev/
    ect/
    lib/
    lib64/
    opt/
    proc/
    sbin/
    script/
    sys/
    tmp/
    usr/
    var
    cloud-int-complete
    error log
    Get.pm

Import: Is a button when I find the correct path back to: /wp-content/uploads/Public

@missnavigator05 The latest update 3.4.3 should hopefully fix that for you. It looks like it’s stripping a few characters off the front of each folder name there – that was caused by a security patch (Someone claimed that the entire purpose of the plugin is a security vulnerability – which it kind of is – and security plugins started notifying site owners, etc)

@dvmathison It’s odd that it’s showing that specific folder, however, to find the actual path to the files you want, if you head to Site Health Debug info (Tools -> Site Health -> Info tab) under the ‘Directories and Sizes’ section you’ll find a Uploads directory location entry, that’ll give you the full path to where the uploads are stored and you should be able to re-locate the folder.

DD32 – Hey Buddy… thanks so much for replying. But I am using version 3.4.3
So since this version did not help, is there anything else I can do to fix this?
    Appreciate ya 🙂

Strange – this did work for me. I woke up this morning and realized there was an update to the plugin, updated, and it went back to normal.

Thank you for the fix (on my end at least!)

Hoping @missnavigator05 has the same luck that I did soon.

    Cheers,

Ya, it worked for me for a bit too, with the update but then for some reason it was saying that the “/” was changed and to revert back I had to clear out some “fsr_root” file, I’m sure I have that spelling wrong. So when I cleared it out, it would keep reverting back to the older version and tell me the same thing over and over again. Now it doesn’t do it anymore, it just shows me a whole bunch of lettered files… I deactivated the plugin, deleted the plugin, reuploaded the plugin and still gives me the same..
But certainly glad it worked out for you evanhall… if you are like me, I can’t think about anything else until it’s fixed, ESPECIALLY when there are no other options out there.

Hey DD32, any resolutions for me?

Just so you know, I was finally able to get the plugin to work again but I had to roll it back to 3.3.3 and finally that version gave me the option to change my “root directory”, the newer version DOES NOT give you that option to select “options” to set your root directory… Just an FYI

please where i can find the older version, the new not working…
    Thanks
