Support » Plugin: Business Directory Plugin - Directories for WordPress » Directory Admin requires Administrator role

    Hi,

I have a site where I’d like to give an Editor user access to the Directory Admin menu, and the admin pages within it, but I am unable to because the menu is hard-coded to require the “Administrator” role.

This means that I can’t give access to an editor without changing their role. Ideally this would be a custom capability that I could assign to any user I’d like, but it really should at least be the manage_options capability. This way I could at least give a user access without changing their role.

Is this something you’d be able to change?

    Hi @jakept,

Sorry that you ran into issues with this!

As you noted, this is something hard coded into the plugin at the moment. That’s something we can consider adding in the future, but it’s not available today. I don’t have an exact timeframe for something like that, but I’ll add it to the list and we’ll consider it alongside other features as well.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or issues!
