Direct from category/tag subpage to its 1st page without redirection???

Hi,

lets say that our category url is that:
https://www.example.com/product-category/categoryXYZ/

when you are for example on
https://www.example.com/product-category/categoryXYZ/page/2/
and you want to go to page 1,
you click and the system drives you to:
https://www.example.com/product-category/categoryXYZ/page/1/
and then 301 redirects to
https://www.example.com/product-category/categoryXYZ/

is that possible to happen without that redirection?
from
https://www.example.com/product-category/categoryXYZ/page/2/
straight to
https://www.example.com/product-category/categoryXYZ/
???

exactly like wordpress does.
