Support » Theme: Sukelius Magazine » Difficult to use non-professional developers

  • The theme is nice, but it required significant modification to meet my design requirements. Unfortunately, the theme is written to intentionally confuse website designers (at least those of us who aren’t professionals).

What’s worse is that when you get stumped, the only place that offers support is the theme’s website; which costs $30 a year. I’m certainly too stubborn to reward him for making this difficult. The CSS isn’t too bad. The problem is trying to modify the php or html; which appears to be spread across scores of unnecessary files and even in JavaScript.

Personally, I dislike Java greatly. I just wish I found out about how heavily it’s used a lot earlier.

This is the fifteenth theme I’ve overhauled a theme over the past 6 years and this has by far been the worst.

    Hi Kevin,

thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it.

I should do a better job in educating people, how to do things properly. Thanks for that, really, I understand how things can be frustrating for someone like you.

On the other hand, if you knew WordPress little better, it would be true pleasure to modify this theme, cause you can do everything that comes to your mind (add HTML, PHP, anywhere in theme).

Support forum is also here, to bad you didn’t post a question.

I saw your site, and you do things the wrong way. All modifications should be made in child theme, as written in the readme file.

Here’s the child theme for Sukelius Magazine:

If you’re willing to start over, I’ll show you how to do all those changes properly in support forums You’ll be able to update theme without loosing any modifications and get new features in the future.

Open up a topic, and I’ll help as much as I can to you and all users to do things the right way.

    themesbro Sinisa
