[Resolved] Different widgets on different pages

  • Is it possible to have different widgets on different pages or do they all stay the same? Don’t know how to edit different pages other that the main article area.

  • If the pages have different templates and the templates have different widget areas you can do it. That’s up to the theme.

There are also plugins that let you put widgets directly on pages, I’ve used widgets-on-pages and it works by creating a widget area and a matching short code that you can put on a page to pull in the widget.

Hi Zep, i use widget logic…. simply create the new widget & write html codes ie… ‘is_page(‘355’)||is_page(‘357’)||is_page(‘359′)||’ etc in the widget logic & it will allow you to put different menus on different pages 🙂

Thanks for the replies. I am new to this and very puzzled. I am using a template Flexibility 3 in WordPress and it appears to me that the header, side bar and footer are global in nature, in other words what ever content, widgets, etc you use show identical on all pages, so you can’t design each page template different???

I hope I am wrong, it does not make much sense to me that you can’t have different stuff on different pages.

The header, footer and sidebar are usually global. You can have different stuff on different pages if you build it yourself. If you create your now theme you can do what ever you want.
